The Danish Building and Property Agency will reduce process energy consumption in the laboratories of the universities. The Danish Building and Property Agency has already worked to reduce process energy consumption in fume cupboards. But there are many other technical installations, which result in great process energy consumption.
As a part of the work in the energy efficiency renovation strategy, the Danish Building and Property Agency has received funds to conduct an analysis of the potential for reducing process energy consumption.
The Danish Building and Property Agency has conducted an invitation to tender for fume cupboards across the property portfolio, which combined will shape the market standard and reduce energy consumption by up to 40% per fume cupboard. Energy consumption of fume cupboards make up a major part of the process energy in laboratories and has not improved over the past 30 years. In order to optimise to best effect, the invitation to tender for fume cupboards also means that the supplier is responsible for both equipment and technology as opposed to the past, where the contract was divided.
